Opeth – Damnation (2023 20th Anniversary Edition LP Black Vinyl)

Description

Damnation remains one of the most striking and unexpected turns in Opeth’s career — a complete embrace of melancholic progressive rock, abandoning metal entirely in favour of haunting atmospheres, delicate arrangements, and introspective songwriting. Originally released in 2003, the album has since become a cult favourite, celebrated for its emotional depth and timeless, autumn‑coloured mood.

This 2023 20th Anniversary Edition LP presents the album with refreshed mastering and renewed warmth, highlighting Steven Wilson’s immaculate production and Mikael Åkerfeldt’s understated, expressive vocal performance. Tracks like “Windowpane,” “In My Time of Need,” and “Hope Leaves” showcase Opeth at their most vulnerable and melodic, while pieces such as “Closure” and “To Rid the Disease” explore the band’s progressive roots with quiet intensity.

A modern classic — atmospheric, beautiful, and essential for Opeth collectors.
