Porcupine Tree – Fear of a Blank Planet (2021 2LP Pressing)

Description

Fear of a Blank Planet is one of Porcupine Tree’s most acclaimed works — a dark, immersive, progressive‑rock masterpiece exploring themes of isolation, technology, and modern disconnection. The 2021 2LP pressing gives the album the spacious, dynamic presentation it deserves, spreading its long‑form compositions across four sides for maximum clarity and depth.

The record opens with the sprawling title track “Fear of a Blank Planet”, followed by the haunting “My Ashes.” Side B is dominated by the monumental “Anesthetize,” a 17‑minute epic featuring a guest guitar solo from Alex Lifeson of Rush. Side C continues the emotional weight with “Sentimental” and “Way Out of Here,” enriched by Robert Fripp’s atmospheric soundscapes. The album closes with “Sleep Together,” a cinematic, tension‑filled finale.

A cornerstone of modern prog — essential for collectors.
