Deftones – Around the Fur (180g Vinyl Reissue, 2024)

Description

Around the Fur (1997) is the album where Deftones exploded creatively — heavier, darker, moodier, and far more experimental than their debut.

This 2024 180‑gram vinyl reissue brings the record back with upgraded clarity and punch, preserving the dense, atmospheric production that made it a cornerstone of late‑90s heavy music.
Recorded at Studio Litho in Seattle and mixed at Larrabee Studios in West Hollywood, the album blends serrated riffs, whispered tension, and explosive catharsis. Tracks like “My Own Summer (Shove It)” and “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” became genre‑defining singles, while deeper cuts like “Mascara,” “Dai the Flu,” and “MX” showcase the band’s evolving emotional and sonic range.
Guest appearances include Max Cavalera on “Headup” and Annalynn Cunningham on “MX.”
